About TJO Presents

Founded as TM Promotions as a New York City event booking firm, the company now known as TJO Presents spent its earliest years as a partnership of two college roommates booking events at such respected NYC music venues as The Knitting Factory, Europa, Pianos, Bowery Poetry Club and legendary Jersey Hotspot Maxwell’s.
After nearly 3 years of booking upwards of 8-10 shows monthly, the company, now a soul proprietorship under the control of now head agent TJ Olsen began to build relationships with artists that were frequent performers on TM Promotions events. Thus the evolution to a full service booking/creative consulting firm began.
Today TJO Presents proudly services a wide array of emerging artists, focusing on being a first step for artists wishing to establish themselves outside their home markets, as well as the ability to grow with its clients, finding the best path for each artist to maximize his/her/their own successes.
While our primary function is as a booking agent/representation, we also offer social media consultation, planning, marketing and referral to other services which in collaboration with our own work will best serve the artist/performers. We have also begun booking occasional events and showcases regionally, in partnership with press and industry partners.

TJ Olsen, Co-founder, Agent

Long before working in music in any professional way, music was an essential part of TJ Olsen’s life; he often credits it with helping him forge some of the most crucial aspects of his life, personal community/relationships. His first inspiration to work in music was frequent conversations with friends in bands and other performers about the frequent difficulties they had trying to balance their first loves as artists, with the less desired business aspect of their arts. The idea of working in music spent much time kicking around Olsen’s head until a late night conversation with his then college roommate during which they decided to book a show. What followed was the evolution of TJO Presents and Olsen’s music related career.Olsen has a batchler of arts in Journalism and a minor in International Relations from Seton Hall University in South Orange NJ, has worked as a social media manager, associate project manager, a as well as having served and having recently returned to serving as an editor at Beyond Race magazine/online.
